Blind Leading the Blind
For vision-impaired elderly people whom need social, emotional and intellectual support. Support group meets the 1st and 3rd  Monday of the month, 12:30 P.M.  at Community Concern.   

Southtowns Depression Support Group
Learn how other people have dealt with depression and how they overcame obstacles in their lives on the road to recovery. 3:30 to 5:50 pm every third Wednesday of the month at Community Concern

Behavioral Health Group Programs

Pathways to Recovery
A 12 week program for people seeking remission of co-occurring substance use and behavioral health disorders. Participants learn how addictive behaviors contribute to symptoms of depression, anxiety and mood swings. Nearly 1 in 3 people with emotional problems (e.g. anxiety, panic, mood swings or depression) have contributing addictive behaviors. Research shows that integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders is significantly more effective than separate mental health and chemical dependency treatment.

Mood Management in Maturity for Women
Participants will learn techniques for coping with depression and anxiety related to stressors that older women confront.  Loss issues such as grief and retirement will be addressed, with an emphasis given to rebuilding social supports.

Assertiveness Training Workshop
For people who tend to be passive or aggressive in dealing with others.  Learn to express your feelings and needs. Learn how to say “No” without feeling guilty.  Stand up for your rights.  Improve your self-esteem.      

Healthy Relationship Group
For women who are in co-dependent, emotionally or physically abusive relationships.  Learn healthy and effective ways to build, enrich and improve relations with family, friends, co-workers and children.   Learn how to communicate more effectively, be assertive and resolve conflicts.

Living Without Violence
For men who are violent or fear they may become violent.    A 14-week program to prevent family violence and strengthen relationships. Participants learn about feelings and communication, how to stop violence, how to recognize and control anger, how to listen to self and others, how to ask for what you want, and more. The Living Without Violence Program is $15.00 per session.

All groups (except where otherwise stated) are $10.00 per session or may be covered by health insurance.
