A 12 week program for people seeking remission of cooccurring substance use and behavioral health disorders.

- Prevent relapse and reoccurrence of emotional problems
Nearly 1 in 3 people with emotional problems (e.g. anxiety, panic, mood swings or depression) have contributing addictive behaviors. Research shows that integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders is significantly more effective than separate mental health and chemical dependency treatment.
HOW
Participants may be referred by family members, court, primary care physicians, or other agencies.
WHO
For people who suffer from anxiety, mood or other behavioral health disorders and abuse alcohol or other drugs. Willingness to stabilize substance abuse is a must. Individuals unable to stabilize drug or alcohol use will be referred to a specialized program.

An initial assessment and group meetings are held at Community Concern, 6722 Erie Road (Route 5), Derby, NY, 14047.
WHAT
Groups are confidential. Community Concern fully complies with HIPAA and NYS laws on patient rights.

About the Facilitators
Martha King-Sedwick LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years experience in substance abuse and behavioral health treatment in a number of outpatient settings.
Joyce Torge RN is a registered nurse with inpatient chemical dependence experience and a strong background in the medical aspects of addictions.
